Abstract / Full Text

The patterns of extraction of higher fatty acids from vegetable oils by methanol and ethanol are studied in relation to the production of fatty acid esters. The main factors determining the parameters of extraction systems in equilibrium are determined. An assessment of the influence of the composition of heterogeneous systems on the results of the extraction became possible when performing calculations of phase equilibria in them using a modified modeling method. The extraction was intensified due to the transfer to the emulsified state of a heterogeneous extraction system, which significantly increased the specific contact area of the phases. During the emulsification equilibrium parameters of the extraction were achieved within 1 min. When carrying out the processes of emulsification and spontaneous delamination of the emulsion under optimal conditions, it was possible to complete the extraction operation in a period of not more than 30 min. Two-three-stage extraction was used for deep oil purification. Recommendations on the use of extraction in emulsion mode were tested in the course of obtaining esters in the processing of an experimental batch of fat-containing wastes, including an admixture of free fatty acids.
