Abstract / Full Text

Oxidation of a lignocarbohydrate complex (LCC) of rough biomass, straw for example, during electrolysis of sodium chloride leads to partial lignin removal, ensuring their efficient use as fodder and a substrate forfermentation. The conclusion is drawn that the main contribution to oxidation of both the straw LCC and the products of its destruction in solution is made by bulk reactions involving hypochlorous acid and hypochlorite.
