Abstract / Full Text

The possibility of using various types of natural powder and acid-modified clay materials as sorbents for the purification of unrefined rapeseed oil from coloring matter was studied. It was demonstrated that the content of carotenoids and pigments of the chlorophyll group in low erucic acid content rapeseed oil treated with a sorbent does not depend on the type of clay. It was found that the pulverization treatment of the surface of clays with solutions of succinic and oxalic acids in comparison with the action of natural sorbents leads to an insignificant (6–14%) decrease in the degree of extraction of dyes from rapeseed oil.
