Effect of Nature of Lead Oxide Deposits of Anodes on o-Toluenesulfamide Oxidation

Oxidation of o-toluenesulfamide is studied in carbonate solutions at lead oxide coatings, which aredeposited on various substrates from alkaline and acid electrolytes. The highest yield of saccharin (97.5% bysubstance and 64.6% by current) is obtained with anodes made of lead dioxide, which is deposited from alkalineelectrolytes on the substrate made of spongy lead.
