Mass transfer of manganese(II) from NaCl, Na2SO, NaHCO3, and Na2CO3 solutions across ion-exchange membranes is studied in the pH range 2–11. Regularities inherent in the extraction of manganese(II)in the electrodialytic desalination process are investigated. The influence exerted by the buildup of poorly soluble manganese compounds on the electrochemical characteristics of anionite membranes is examined at overlimiting currents.
