Abstract / Full Text

A considerable amount of harmful substances enters the reservoirs together with sewage and worsens its sanitary condition. Therefore, the issue of deep cleaning of household, domestic and industrial sewage is a matter of urgency.

Non-carbon sorbents of natural and artificial origin are increasingly used for water purification by adsorption. The use of these sorbents is due to their relatively high adsorption capacity, selectivity, cation exchange properties of some of them, relatively low cost and availability. The most important representatives of natural sorbents are zeolites and clay materials. Therefore, it is promising to create composite sorbents based on such cheap materials, among which clay materials are the most promising [1].

The purpose of the work was to create composites based on saponite clay with micro and nano MoS2 and compare their adsorption properties toward to methylene blue.

The synthesis composites (MicroComposite and NanoComposite) and investigation the sorption properties were carried out accordingly to [1]. The concentrations of Methyl Blue in solutions were 10, 50, 100 and 500 mg/dm3. The obtained results are show on Fig. 1.

Figure 1 − Adsorption isotherms of methyl blue on: (а) – MicroComposite; (б) – NanoComposite.

As can be seen from Figure 1, the sorption capacities both composites are high values, and it is makes it impossible to compare these compositions.
